Douglas built the B-17G-25-DL Flying Fortress "The Wish Bone". Prior to their bombing mission, the crew of this B-17 had a chicken dinner. One of the crewmen took the wish bone and hung it in the cockpit. Prior to every mission, they had a chicken dinner and hung the wishbone in the B-17. The Wish Bone survived 80 missions.
