Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) were never able to fly in combat, yet they were crucial in the training and re-training of B-17 gunners and transporting aircraft from base to base and more. Beverly Beesemyer was discovered through an article in Sydne Sherman’s alumnae magazine, the View, from Flintridge Sacred Heart Academy in Pasadena, CA where Bev and Sydne both attended, though years apart. The article was about the Women Airforce Service Pilots (WASP) receiving a Congressional Gold Medal on March 10, 2010, for their service during World War II. When asked if she could still fly the B-26 today she immediately replied - you bet! Gunnery Training is to honor our new friend Beverly Beesemyer and all the Women Airforce Service Pilots.
