The VC-137C was developed from the intercontinental Boeing 707-300 series. It was powered by four 18,000 lb. thrust, Pratt & Whitney JT3D-3 turbofan engines and provided a maximum cruising speed of 456 mph at 25,000 feet. The service ceiling was 36,000 feet. The Boeing VC-137C carried President Jimmy Carter to many key meetings worldwide.
