The Curtiss NC-4 is one of four flying boats that were built specifically to fly across the Atlantic Ocean. In May 1919, the NC-4 became the first aircraft to complete the Transatlantic crossing starting in the United States and crossing to Lisbon, Portugal, in 19 days.
