Young Second Lieutenant John Sweetland was co-pilot of the B-24G Star Dust II. He was also my mother’s first husband. Sadly, he was killed in action along with three other crew members when ditching a crippled aircraft in the Bay of Naples. Please read my inspiration of why I created Strata Aviation Arts.
