The current Presidential transport, referred to as Air Force One when the President is aboard, is based on the popular Boeing 747 jetliner. It can be identified by the distinctive color scheme and the President's seal. This plane is a virtual winged White House, and can carry the President, his guests and family with all the amenities of their home. From Air Force One, the President is able to conduct any Government business that arises during his absence from the capitol. Two examples of this aircraft are maintained and flown by the 89th Airlift Wing, Andrews AFB, and Maryland. Cost of operations per hour is $147,000
